It has the meaning of ”supporting the roots” and as the name suggests, it is the foundation chakra of a person. It is said that as this becomes stronger, you will have more leeway to take a firm stance, and your stability and perseverance will increase. It is thought to be located in the "perineum" between the genitals and anus, and is connected to instinctive sensations such as sexual desire and reproductive function.
